About Me

I'm a licensed social worker (LMSW) and software engineer, with training as a meditation teacher. This unique combination shapes how I approach both people and software, with empathy, user-centered thinking, and a focus on creating tools that genuinely help people.

Across the full stack, I specialize in Python, Django, FastAPI, React, and TypeScript. I build custom software for non-profits and healthcare organizations, spaces where my technical skills and human services background intersect.

There's also a whole side of me that doesn't fit in a work section. The mats, the cushion, the table, and the bookshelf have a page of their own.

What I Build

Custom software for non-profits and healthcare teams, scoped in plain language, shipped with care.

Case management & intake

Client records, referrals, and intake flows built around how your team actually works, not the other way around.

Dashboards & reporting

Funder-ready reports and live program dashboards from the data you already collect.

Integrations & automation

Connect the systems you're stuck with, EHRs, spreadsheets, email, and automate the copy-paste in between.

Web apps, end to end

From first conversation to deployed product. Design, build, hosting, and the unglamorous essentials like backups and secure logins.

I've built systems that handle protected health information, column-level encryption, audit trails, passkey login. HIPAA isn't an afterthought here; it's a starting assumption.

How an engagement runs

Position before submission, as jiu-jitsu teaches. Understand fully, then build.

1

A short discovery call

Thirty minutes, plain language, free. You describe the problem; I'll tell you honestly whether custom software is the right answer, sometimes it isn't.

2

A fixed-scope proposal

What gets built, what it costs, and when it ships, in writing, before any money moves.

3

Build, with weekly check-ins

You see working software every week, and nothing launches without your sign-off. After launch, I stay reachable for support.

Engagements contract through Cabro Insight LLC.

The Social Work Side

You won't find a timeline or bullet points here, that's on purpose. This side of me isn't corporate, and it never was. Social work, as a mentor once told me, isn't what I do, it's how I do it.

I'm trained in mindfulness-based interventions, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), DBT, and I approach care through an attachment lens. As a mixed-race child of immigrants, cultural humility isn't a framework I studied, it's the house I grew up in.

These values follow me everywhere, including into the software I build.

Trauma-InformedAssume everyone arrives carrying something. In software that means no dark patterns, no surprise states, nothing that punishes a wrong click.Harm ReductionMeet people where they are instead of demanding they change first. It's why I build around your existing spreadsheet instead of ripping out your workflow.Restorative JusticeRepair over punishment. In engineering terms, blameless debugging. Fix the system that allowed the mistake, not the person who made it.Cultural HumilityStaying a student of other people's contexts. I build for organizations whose work I don't presume to understand better than they do.LGBTQIA+ AffirmingIn care and in code alike, names can change, pronouns aren't a binary dropdown, and forms never misgender the person filling them out.Person-CenteredThe person defines the goal, not the framework. In software, the outcome for the human on the other side of the screen beats the feature list.RelationalThe work happens inside the relationship. Long engagements over handoffs; I stay reachable after launch.Non-PathologizingPeople aren't problems to diagnose. If users are 'doing it wrong,' the confusing software is the bug, not the person.Somatic-AwareBodies keep the score, screens included. Calm interfaces, no alarm-red everywhere, motion that respects reduced-motion settings.Mutual AidCommunities keeping each other going without gatekeepers. It's why my pricing slides for non-profits.Community CareCare as infrastructure, not one person's burden. I build tools that lighten a whole team's load instead of minting a single hero.Abolitionist-LeaningQuestion systems that punish by default. In tech that means no surveillance features, and no tracking beyond what serves the person being tracked.Decolonizing PracticeAsking whose defaults became 'the default.' I question who a form assumes you are, from family structure to language to name order.
